It’s 2011 already! Which means the holidays just passed and Valentine’s is just up ahead… soo that also means a lot of you probably just became newly engaged! While it’s a great time to be celebrating, it’s also a good time to start thinking about where and when you want to have your wedding so you can lock in the venue and date.  That’s really the first and foremost before anything else.

Here are some tips to think about:

– Big or Small gathering?

– Indoor or outdoor? By the Beach? Or inland?

– Time of day

– Religious or non?

There are some other key elements to think about, but these are some main ones to start with to help narrow you search.  Once you’ve found a few, call and ask about availability for your date and the rates.  Depending on the season, sometimes venues will offer to give you a bigger discount since it’s an off season.

I recommend narrowing your choices down to the top 3.  And of those, hopefully the two of you will pick the one you both love the most.
